Misery will not leave from where there is excessive bad or harmful associations with that which takes you away from the Self (kusang). Whereas happiness will not leave from where there is excessive association with Self-realized beings or spiritual discourses (satsang)!
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhat does the Lord say? "If you want liberation then go to the Gnani Purush (Self-realized One who can help others attain Self-realization) and if you want happiness in worldly life then serve your mother, father and Guru (teacher). In fact, in serving your parents, it is possible to attain tremendous happiness!
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanPunyanubandhi punya (unfolding merit karma that binds new merit karma) can help you meet a Gnani Purush (the Self-realized One, who can help others attain Self-realization).
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanDehadhyas (the belief that ‘I am the body’) does not leave without [the grace of] the Gnani Purush (the Self-realized One, who can help others realize the Self). The Gnani Purush is vitaraag (one who is free from all attachment). He constantly remains in Swa-parinati (the natural state of the Self). The Gnani Purush does not remain [engrossed] in the body, mind, intellect or ego. That is why only the Gnani Purush can free us from our belief that 'I am the body.'
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanHow can one let go of dehadhyas (the belief that, 'I am the body') whilst residing in dehadhyas? For that, go to a Gnani (a Self-realized being), the One who has become a tarantaaranhar (One who has become liberated and can liberate others). The dehadhyas cannot go away through dehadhyas.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanIf you meet a ‘Gnani’ (a Self-realized One), then you simply have to understand [what He says], whereas if you meet a renunciate, then the entire point is of 'doing'; you have to 'do' what he shows you to 'do'. Everything that you have to 'do' is [considered as] worldly life.
