As long as devotional viewing (darshan) of the amurta (the invisible One, the Self) has not been done [Self-realization has not taken place], definitely do devotional viewing (darshan) of an idol of God (murti). Devotional viewing of an idol of God is actually a science of India. As soon as one spots a temple, he bows down at that very point.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanAs long as there is agnan (ignorance of the Self), the Self (Atma) is a gneya (an object to be known; realized). After Self-realization, the Self is the Knower (Gnata).

Param Pujya Dada BhagwanIf one knows how to ‘digest’ an insult after attaining Self-realization, he will become a ‘Gnani’ (the enlightened one). And if he ‘digests’ an insult without attaining Self-realization, he will become shameless.

"If you want liberation then go to the Gnani Purush (Self-realized One who can help others attain Self-realization) and if you want happiness in worldly life then serve your mother, father and Guru (teacher). In fact, in serving your parents, it is possible to attain tremendous happiness!
