That which lives and dies is the jeev, and that which attains the immortal state is the Atma! The Atma is the Self, whereas that [jeev] is the relative self. The jeev is nothing but a temporary state.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanThe desire (ichchha) to indulge in happiness that is temporary is referred to as spruha.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanIf you cling onto the temporary, then you will become temporary, therefore cling onto that which is permanent. Cling onto the Gnani Purush. The Gnani Purush is a dehadhari parmatma (the absolute Self in a human body)!
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanNever is any Soul (Atma) in the form of a man or a woman. This is only a circumstance (avastha) and circumstances are all temporary. All these 'relatives' are temporary adjustments; Real is permanent.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhy have idols been established? What is the intention behind this? ‘Sir, You are eternally blissful and I have temporary happiness. I, too, desire eternal bliss.’ God is eternally blissful, that is why even as an idol, He appears more attractive than us. We feel as if we just want to keep looking at Him!
