The thing [vastu, eternal element] itself is just one. But a ‘like’ and ‘dislike’ occurs due to illusion, because everyone’s viewpoint is different.

Worldly life means it is ever changing. So where is the need for [worrying] ‘this will happen’ or ‘that will happen’? Why have attachment for that [someone] which shows regards towards you one day and disregard the next? It is worth having attachment for trikali vastu [eternal element that remains constant during the three-time span - past, present and future], which is one’s own (real) ‘nature’. And one should do attachment for the Gnani Purush [the enlightened one] who graces you with the awareness of your Self. Never will a change occur in Him.

How can one who does not Know the eternal element (tattva), speak about it? The world only knows that which is not eternal (attatva).

The Gnani Purush alone can see the uniqueness of the eternal elements (tattva). It is not possible to explain them to anyone else through the intellect. The uniqueness of the element of the Self (Atmatattva) is that everything arises merely through Its presence! If the vision of the Self falls this way, then this ends up happening, and if the vision of the Self falls that way, then that ends up happening! The vision of the Self falls in every direction, as a result of that, everything indeed tends to materialize! The Self has infinite energy; it is indeed due to Its presence that all of this arises and all of this is functioning.

The world is very vast, expansive; it is worth understanding. Nothing else has actually happened in the world! All this adjustment is of the very same six eternal elements!

The universe is filled with nothing but the six eternal elements! These six partners make up a limited company. (1) That which provides the place for the business is avkash (space). (2) The provider of the goods for the business is the pudgal (inanimate matter). (3) That which transports the goods back and forth is the gati sahayak tattva (element of motion) (4) That which does the work of arranging and storing the goods is the sthiti sahayak tattva (element of inertia). (5) That which is responsible for the settlement of the above four is kaal tattva (element of time). (6) The One who keeps watch is the pure Soul, the Knower-Seer.

The chit (inner component of knowledge and vision) is to be kept in the eternal element [the Self]. It has to be kept in the real form as the Self (Swaroop). Chanting, penance, meditation, yoga, mantra; those are not eternal things. Those are all temporary adjustments. No thing is eternal. The Self alone is eternal. If the chit has set within the Self, then it will not wander! That is when there will be freedom (mukti)!

The ego is a restless (chanchad) thing, it is not still. The eternal element that is achad (still), actually exists where there is no ego, where there is nothing at all. There is only the real, absolute Self (Parmatma) there! The Self itself is the absolute Self; the realization of that should occur, the Knowledge of that should arise.

To believe this world as it exists to be the truth and to dwell only in that, that is the impure chit (inner component of knowledge and vision). And to believe that whatever the knowledge and vision (gnan-darshan) of this world is, it is not true, and to maintain the dwelling in the real eternal element [the Self], that is known as pure chit. The pure chit is itself the pure Soul.
