As long as devotional viewing (darshan) of the amurta (the invisible One, the Self) has not been done [Self-realization has not taken place], definitely do devotional viewing (darshan) of an idol of God (murti). Devotional viewing of an idol of God is actually a science of India. As soon as one spots a temple, he bows down at that very point.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanBy natural law there are two parts to everything; ‘relative’ and ‘real’. By praying to a picture, the 'relative' mail reaches Lord Krishna , and in the ‘real’ it is indeed the worship of the Self within you.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanYou cling on to the truth; no one in the world can shake your faith and devotion.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhat is considered as [true] aaradhana (devotion, worship)? The person for whom one has devotion, one should never stop having devotion for that person, even if it is a question of life or death! Aaradhana means [only] aaradhana.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanPeople are going out to earn when circumstances are not favourable. Actually, that is when they should do devotional worship (bhakti).
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanIf you praise the virtues of the person who is two degrees higher than you, if you worship him, if you serve him; this is known as ‘aradhana’ (devotion). If you say bad things about him, defame him; it is known as ‘viradhana’ (criticism). ‘Viradhana’ results in your down fall and ‘aradhana’ results in your rise upwards.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanA place where the mind can attain stillness can be found in a great person who has a steady mind. By seeing him (devotionally), others’ mind can also attain stillness, but the chit (internal component of knowledge and vision) may remain unsteady there.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanYou will benefit if you devotionally view the one who has both stillness in his eyes and a contented state of chit (internal component of knowledge and vision).
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhen no poison of any kind remains in your eyes, when a liberated laughter is seen, then people will do your darshan (look at you devotionally).
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhen one prays to an image of Lord Krishna, it reaches the 'relative'. If one bows down here (at the lotus feet of the Gnani Purush), then it reaches one's own Self (Atma) directly. This is because the vitaraag One (One free from all attachment and abhorrence) does not accept it, does He? It is always such that, wherever there is darshan of both the 'relative' and the 'real', there indeed lies liberation (moksha).
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhen you do devotional viewing (darshan) of God, do it with (pure) intent. When you make the effort to go and do darshan, but you do not do it with the proper intent, then it is in vain. Therefore, do darshan in this way, 'Dear God! The one residing within me is verily You. You are vitaraag (one free from all attachment and abhorrence). I am bowing down to you.' If you do darshan in this way, then God has no choice but to answer the 'phone-call'. If He does not answer, then that is His responsibility. Hence, when a real 'phone-call' comes in, then God will answer it immediately.
