Why have idols been established? What is the intention behind this? ‘Sir, You are eternally blissful and I have temporary happiness. I, too, desire eternal bliss.’ God is eternally blissful, that is why even as an idol, He appears more attractive than us. We feel as if we just want to keep looking at Him!

If the Self were to possess anything, then that in itself would be misery. Where there are no possessions, there is boundless bliss! The Self (pote) is blissful by Its very nature!

When would people do darshan (live connection with an enlightened One through eye contact)? When no sort of ill intent is visible in the eyes, that is when people do darshan! Samadhi (a blissful state) arises simply upon looking into His eyes!
