Whenever the memory of something [a fault or transgression] comes to mind, do pratikraman (repentance coupled with asking for forgiveness) for it. Whenever a desire arises, do pratyakhyan (avowal to not repeat the mistake) for it.
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanTo speak [negatively] about a specific individual [in their absence] is considered ninda (slander). The matter is meant to be understood in a general sense. Engaging in ninda is actually a sign of heading towards spiritual downfall (adhogati).
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanIf anger, pride, deceit and greed end up arising, let them be. There is no problem even if thoughts of unworthy behaviour arise; do not be alarmed. However, make sure You [the Self] reverse them by doing pratikraman (three fold process of confessing the mistake, asking for forgiveness for it and resolving not to repeat it) for them in this way. That will result in a very elevated level of dharmadhyan (a virtuous internal state of being that prevents one from hurting oneself or others)!
Param Pujya Dada BhagwanThe one whose ‘alochana (confession of mistakes), pratikraman (asking for forgiveness) and pratyakhyan (avowal to never repeat the mistake)’ are true (done correctly), he is bound to attain the knowledge of the Self (attain self realization).
