What is punya (merit karma) and paap (demerit karma)? No one runs this world. But still, the circumstances of merit and demerit karma, runs this world.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanMerit karma (punya) is fruit of action, demerit karma (paap) is also a fruit of action too, and moksha (ultimate liberation) is the fruit of becoming still (becoming a non-doer).
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanDemerit (paap) karma and merit (punya) karma, what are they? God resides within every living being in worldly life, therefore never have even the slightest intent to hurt any living being. Otherwise, as a result of that engaging in that fault, demerit karma will be bound. On the other hand, if you give the slightest of happiness to any living being, or you have the slightest intent to give happiness to any living being, then as a result of giving happiness to the God within, you will bind merit karma.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanPrevailing in ashubh bhaav (inauspicious or hurtful intents) binds demerit karma (paap), prevailing in shubh bhaav (auspicious or helpful intents) binds merit karma (punya), and prevailing in shuddha bhaav (pure intent; the state as the Self) leads to moksha (ultimate liberation)!
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanThe result that comes as per your expectation is a discharging effect of your merit karma (punya), and if the result is not as per your expectation, then it is the discharging effect of your demerit karma (paap).
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWho created merit and demerit karma (paap and punya)? The society? No. they are a natural phenomenon.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanThe one who is afraid of binding demerit karma (paap), that [person] is considered [to have] great knowledge!
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanIn situations where there is any 'doing', there one binds either merit karma (punya) or demerit karma (paap).
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanThe absolutely detached Lord has said, "The one who does not have abhorrence (dwesh) or love (prem) over both, bad deeds (paap) and good deeds (punya) is absolutely free from attachment and abhorrence (vitaraag)!
— Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan'I am doing good deeds (punya)', 'I am doing bad deeds (paap)'; both (beliefs) are egoism.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanSamkit (the right belief that 'I am pure Soul') is when merit karma (punya) and demerit karma (paap) become worthy of being forsaken!
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanConcentration (ekagrata) can only take place when, the unfolding of your karma assists you from within. If the unfolding karma does not give assistance, then it cannot happen. When merit karma (punya) unfolds, then concentration arises, but when demerit karma (paap) unfolds, then it cannot happen.
