For infinite lives, one has been wandering around, and once in a while, he will attain a human birth. But there his back will hurt. He will have created obstacles such that he will not be able to eat, even when he is served a plate full of food. This is how it is! So think before you take any steps (before you do anything).
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanOur people say, "I've got a fever," when the fever is actually subsiding! The fever that was building up inside [the body] was a result of the toxic food ingested; the vitality power [of the body] is producing heat [fever] to detoxify it.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanThe world can never survive without dependency (avalamban). Some dependency or another is needed. The mind needs food. The one who has become free of dependency has become free.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhen there will not remain any such thing which we like to eat, then there will not remain any such thing which we do not like to eat.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhat does Jinmudra (The posture of the Omniscient Lord) say? The lotus position of Vitrag Lords(fully enlightened being), one hand and foot placed over the other, preaches, “Oh, humans! Understand this if you have the wisdom. You have already brought with you the food, drink and everything you need; therefore, let go of the awareness that ‘I am the doer’ and make effort to attain Moksha (ultimate liberation)!”
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhen many circumstances come together, one will get food to eat. When many circumstances come together, one gets to go hungry (one will not get food to eat). One goes hungry when many more circumstances come together. A greater number of circumstances are needed for an unfavorable situation, and less for favorable situation.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanConvenience is considered as “food” and inconvenience is considered as “vitamin”.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanSahaj (natural and spontaneous) means a state that is completely free of effort being made. There is no problem when tea and food come to you without any effort on your part.
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhat is brahmacharya (celibacy through the mind, speech, and body)? When that which has been filled in [the food we eat] does not get discharged [the final extract of food; semen], that is brahmacharya. In fact, the one whose input (puran) is under control can practice brahmacharya!
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanAll the things in the world are such that they regress to a lower level. Virya (the final extract of food) alone is such that if one so desires, then it can ascend!
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanDoes a cat not get its food on time? Whereas these people say, "My business is ruined. Now, what will become of me?" The cat gets milk and bread (to eat) on time. Whereas these humans fret, 'What will we do if we do not get milk?' The moment the intellect is used, things get ruined!
— Param Pujya Dada BhagwanWhat does a healthy mind mean? It is a mind that never faces any difficulty at all. Whether you are served bland food or sour food, the mind does not get affected! A diseased mind means if the ‘disease of sourness’ has infiltrated within, then one has a demand for sour food only!
