Questioner: There have been many saints, devotees and Gnanis in this world, so why is this world not peaceful and happy? Why is misery and restlessness still increasing?

Pujya Niruma:  Oh! What’s this talk of saints and devotees? How much (suffering) did Lord Mahavir undergo but nothing touched him. Even Lord Krishna had to face so many problems.  He had to face the battle of Mahabharat and so many other things. All this is natural, all this is inherent. Saints and devotees have nothing to do with this. Those poor people just keep sprinkling water to bring peace to all. However, nobody can do anything. All this is natural; nature does it all. Everyone is helpless before nature. Even Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and Lord Mahavir could not do anything. When Lord Ram’s wife Sita was abducted, how difficult it must have been for him! How could he tolerate that? How grave was the problem! You would know if it were to happen to you. How much one has to suffer? Nevertheless, he was not involved, he didn’t suffer internally. There is everything on the outside but nothing from within. They simply have to settle their karmas. They were born with those karmas but they weren’t affected by them. They simply remained in their real state as the Soul and resolved their worldly predicaments.  They related to their life as if it were a drama; they played their part very precisely, fulfilling their designated roles in life.

Questioner: What is salvation

Pujya Niruma:  ‘Moksha’, salvation means freedom from all suffering. Constant non intent of suffering that’s the first salvation and an infinite experience of instinctive happiness is the ultimate salvation. In the first stage of salvation, there’s freedom from all suffering and in the second stage there’s infinite lasting happiness.
