An object indulged in by jiva via the ten indriyas (senses). The jiva cannot remain without indulging in the vishayas, but vishayas related to God uplift while vishayas related to the world pollute the jiva. The jiva's deep-rooted desire to indiscriminately indulge in the pleasures of the vishayas deflects it from the path of ultimate Liberation.
