Gnani Purush with Supreme Enlightenment

The state of the Gnani Purush is very complex. An ordinary person will not be able to understand him. The Gnani Purush does not have the burden of an institution, he does not have a banner, he has no sect or cult nor does he wear an attire of saffron or white clothing. How can ordinary people recognize him when he roams about in plain and simple clothing? Even then, so that one does not make a mistake in recognizing him, the scriptures describe the Gnani as someone who is always in the awareness (upyog) of his Pure Soul (Atma). The Gnani’s speech is such that it can be experienced (by the listener). He has no internal attachment to worldly things. He has no sense of pride or sense of doership. He is not desirous of anything in this world! He has no desire for wealth, fame, sex or followers. When a person acquires a perfect state of contentment, only the light of Absolute Knowledge shines within. Only the one who has become a savior in every sense of the word is able to save others.
In a Gnani, there are so many evidences of the highest kind and circumstances of the most favorable kind. He has the highest of physique determining karma (naam-karmas). He has karmas of fame; fame befalls him even when he does nothing. His speech is attractive and beautiful. He has a status of lokapujya (everyone reveres him). It is only when all such evidences are present that a Gnani Purush manifests.
The Gnani does not need to read scriptures nor does he need to turn a rosary. With the Gnani there is no distinction between the worshipper and the worshipped; He himself is God (bhagwan). God is a quality and the one who acquires these divine qualities merits the title of God.
God remains the superior as long as a person has faults. When a person becomes free of all faults, then there is no superior above him. In the same token there is no subordinate either. Such a person is completely ‘independent’.
Every deed of the Gnani is wonderful. He is not bound by any of his deeds. The worldly deeds sow seeds of karmas for the next life, whereas the Gnani’s deeds give liberation. He himself is liberated but he also has the capacity to liberate others!

The Gnani is nirgranth - he has no ‘knots’ (Karmic knots of atoms, which have their basis on the four basic human weakness of anger-pride-attachment-greed). All his ‘knots’ have been destroyed. The laws of penance or austerity are not applicable to the Gnani. He has nothing to relinquish – his state is above the duality of possession-renunciation. There is no likelihood of him having to give up anything or not give up anything. God himself has disclosed this. The Gnani does not possess any novelty. He remains forever in the same state that he was in when his Knowledge manifested. That is why he is very complex. How can people recognize a Gnani when they use penance as a gauge to identifying a Gnani?
If a person learns to recognize the three qualities of the Gnani, then all puzzles for him will be solved! Then he will remain free. The Gnani has three qualities. He is: compressible, flexible and tensile.
Compressibility is a quality that does not allow any amount of pressure exerted upon an object to change its original form; it withstands all pressure and reverts back to its original form. Flexibility means that it will bend the way you want it to without ever breaking. Tensility means it can withstand any amount of tension. When a person acquires these three qualities, there will be no hitches in his worldly dealings and therefore he will be able to acquire liberation (Moksha) without any problems.
The Gnani is gurutam-lagutam (highest, superior – humble, lowly). If someone were to call him a donkey, he would say, “ I am even lower than that. I am the lowliest of the low. I am so low that you would not even understand it.” And if someone were to call him an acharya (religious teacher), he would say, “Sir, if you want to attain a level higher than that, then I am at a lever even higher than that: I am God.” The seeker who knows what he wants to attain will be successful! The Soul itself is aguru-lagu (devoid of any fluctuation in superiority or inferiority).
In this world, only the Gnani Purush can be called Aptapurush. Apta means that he can be trusted in every respect, not just in worldly matters but also in spiritual guidance in enabling one to acquire moksha. As long as a person has not acquired Enlightenment, the living Gnani Purush himself is his Soul. The Gnani Purush is the embodiment of liberation. You have to enlighten your own soul by looking at the Gnani. The Gnani can be called parasmani (a gem which when touched turns iron into gold). A person non-awakened to his own Self (non-Self-Realized) is the iron that turns into gold by merely

touching the Gnani. However this is only possible if the seeker does not keep a difference between him and the Gnani or if he has no reservations about the Gnani. The Gnani has the infinite art of Knowledge, infinite art of enlightening and infinite ways of shedding true light on the exact knowledge of Liberation. So a person should take what he wants and find all the solutions.
You will have to go to the Gnani Purush to know the Soul. You cannot attain anything without the help of the one who knows where it is. Therefore you have to go to the one who remains in ‘Nirvikalpa samadhi’ (The who has the highest realization where the only experience is the undisturbed bliss of God.) and the Gnani Purush is the only such person. The Gnani gives you the pure light in your own hands. A Gnani can do whatever he wishes but he still remains in the belief that he is merely an instrument in the process; he is not the sole ‘doer’. The Gnani is never the ‘doer’ of anything.
Scriptures departs the message that if a person wants to attain the Soul, he must go to a living Gnani Purush. Only a candle that is lit can light another candle, so ‘go to a Gnani’, because ‘the Gnani is the embodied state of the Soul’, that is to say he is the savior!’
The Gnani always lives in the present. He never lives in the past or the future. He is in the constant experience of the present. If a glass breaks, it is already a past; worries about what will happen fall in the future. The Gnani remains in the smallest indivisible split fraction of time (He remains in the present only). He has wandered through and experienced each and every atom of the universe. He is the knower and seer of all that is to be seen (gneyas). Only the Gnani can reach (experience) the infinitesimal level of the atoms (parmanus) and the infinitesimal portion of time that cannot be divided further – (samay)!
‘Gutt vastu no shoch nahi, Bhavishya ni vaanchhana nahi
Vartamane varte sada soi gnani’
‘Where past never occupies the thoughts, where there is no desire of the future.
Eternally living in the present, verily is a Gnani’
You can achieve salvation if you come to the Gnani with just two things: Absolute humility and the belief ‘I do not know anything’. What is more if

just once, you surrender all your desires and wishes at the feet of a Gnani with absolute humility, and you will attain Moksha. This is how incredibly amazing it is!
There are no words to describe the Gnani. Any writings would fall short. The Gnani cannot be weighed or measured. Do not measure him. Do not try to weigh him, (i.e. do not test the Gnani in any way). You will not find anyone to free you if you ever attempt to ‘weigh’ the Gnani. You will be in a considerable bind (you doom yourself to roam amongst the four different life forms). How can you weigh the Gnani with your scales? Anyone who attempts to measure the Gnani ends up measuring his own intelligence. How can you weigh someone when you don’t understand even a single word he utters? The Gnani cannot be weighed using the intellect (buddhi), on the contrary, you should restrain your intellect; you should become abuddh (without intellect) in the presence of a Gnani. The intellect will only show you a negative perspective. If you do not understand the Gnani’s words, then you should assume and accept that you have that much obstinacy within you. If under any circumstances you go against the Gnani, you will never attain Moksha. Oh mortal! Don’t you know that Moksha.is attained only at the feet of the Gnani and if you don’t shape up in front of a Gnani, then how do you expect to attain Moksha.? If a person were to abandon his guru and go elsewhere and mess around, there is still hope for him, but if a person messes around at the feet of a Gnani, there is no hope for him because there is nothing but severe bondage.
Opposition to the Gnani is acceptable but criticism of the Gnani is not. If you cannot worship the Gnani it is fine but you must never criticize him in any way. You must make sure of this. The status of the Gnani is extraordinary. You should never criticize a Gnani.
To feel a sense of dislike for the Gnani Purush can be considered criticism in itself. The Gnani Purush himself is your own Soul. Criticism of the Gnani is criticism of your own soul and it can be said that you become your own critic. People who have a tendency towards obstinacy should be even more cautious. Just one criticism of the Gnani will bind a person for countless time in narkgati (hell)! If you are not straight forward before the one who is the Lord of three lokas (worlds), then with whom else will you be? Liberation can only be accomplished when you become completely straightforward before the Gnani Purush.

After Lord Mahavir’s nirvana(release from worldly bondage), there have been three Gnani's:
Kundkundacharya, Shrimad Rajchandra and Akram Vignani Shri Dada Bhagwan.
