One evening in June of 1958, Ambalal Muljibhai Patel, a contractor by profession was sitting on a bench of platform number three of Surat Railway station, India, waiting for a train.  It was around six o’clock. Amidst the din of jostling commuters, nature unfolded to create a phenomenon so rare that it occurs once every million years!  This phenomenon was the manifestation of the knowledge of the spiritual science called Akram Vignan. Suddenly but very naturally the Omniscient Lord known as ‘Dada Bhagwan’ began to manifest within Ambalal Patel.  This divine revelation resulted in the creation of Ambalal Patel as a Gnani Purush, who became the medium through whom knowledge of universal truth and the short cut path to Self Realization came to be revealed.  Within one hour, A. M. Patel, lovingly known as Dadashri, gained universal knowledge and vision.  Answers to questions such as ‘Who am I?  Who is God?  Who runs the world? What is karma? What is liberation?’ etc., became revealed to him.  This revelation was no accident but rather the fruit of Ambalal’s own spiritual search in his countless past lives.  It was Dadashri’s ardent desire that people world over acquire this knowledge and attain liberation through it.

10 years later, on July 8th 1968, Dr. Niruben Amin received the knowledge of Self Realization from Dadashri. Her spiritual connection with Dada could not be denied. The moment she set eyes on him, she felt a tremendous inner calling to serve him and help him in his mission of spreading the science of Akram.   She felt there would be many doctors of medicine but rarely does one come across a ‘doctor of the Self’. What could be a greater profession than to serve to liberate humankind from all forms of suffering?  She dedicated the next twenty years of her life in Dada’s service.  Diligently and meticulously, she went about caring for him with utmost devotion, as a daughter would for her beloved father. With her own hands, she prepared his meals and tended to his needs in health and illness.  She humbly remained at his feet, sitting vigilantly when he gave ‘satsangs’ (spiritual discussion). Using a simple tape recorder, Niruma would record everything Dadashri uttered.   She accompanied Dada wherever he went. They visited many rural villages and towns in India and several international cities.  Later, the pure words of knowledge uttered by the Gnani were published in many different books.  Of particular significance are the fourteen volumes of Aptavani, the final volume being completed just a few months before her own mortal departure.  This was a milestone achievement for Niruma as on her part it signified a fulfillment of a promise she had made to Dada who had prophesized that the Science of Akram would be published in fourteen volumes of Aptavani for the world to read.

Dadashri was very satisfied with Niruma’s own spiritual progress and shortly before he passed away, he said to her, “I am very pleased with you Niruben. Whenever Niruben wants, Dada will speak from within. This Niruben is a great source for the world’s salvation.” Dadashri blessed her with special spiritual powers so that she would become the medium through which the science of Akram would flow.  He graced her with the power to impart the knowledge of Self-realization to all seekers in exactly the same manner he used to.  Immediately following Dadashri’s Samadhi (the soul ascension from the mortal body), with unrelenting passion, Niruma took over Dadashri’s mission for the salvation of all humanity. She began to give satsangs in the same style as Dada used to.  She boldly traveled alone to villages and cities in India as well as abroad, ready to give satsang to even one spiritual aspirant.  As more people experienced the power of Akram Vignan, many more began to attend her satsangs and the growth picked up momentum to the point where shortly before she passed away, tens of thousands thronged her satsang, lending truth to Dadashri’s statement of  “Niruben is a great source for the world’s salvation”.

Pujya Niruma left her mortal body on March 19 2006, but the momentum of satsang still continues under the auspices of Pujya Deepakbhai Desai, whom Dadashri has also blessed with the special powers to give Self-Realization to all seekers.  The spiritual work of Dadashri’s mission also includes a printing press for Dadashri’s books and a monthly topic related publication called Dadavani, currently being published in three languages, Gujarati, Hindi and English.  Everyday, satsangs conducted by Niruma as well as Deepakbhai, are aired on several local, national and international television channels, reaching millions across metropolitan cities as well as remote villages throughout the world. The television media has provided a global platform for the proliferation of Dadashri’s Science, which impacts countless lives by bringing inner peace and liberation. The words of the Gnani Purush are empowered to transcend all cultural and language barriers, touching the seeker’s heart with an experience so profound, that we now gain insight into Dadashri’s statement that the world will look to India for guidance on both spiritual and as well as worldly enlightenment.
