Self Realized Pujya Niruma

Prayer to Niruma on her birthless birthday

Pujya Niruben Amin, lovingly referred to as ‘Niruma' by many, was born on December 2nd 1944 in Aurangabad, India. Her family is one of the wealthiest in the region. She was the only sister amongst five elder brothers in the Amin family. Being the youngest, her parents and siblings showered her with love and attention. She completed her basic schooling in Mumbai and graduated with a medical degree in Gynecology from Aurangabad Medical College.

In her final year at college, one of her brothers told her about The Gnani Purush (Self-Enlightened Being) Ambalal Muljibhai Patel, also known as ‘Dadashri' or ‘Dada Bhagwan'. Dadashri had the ability to give self realization to people, within two hours through the unique spiritual science of Akram Vignan, a short-cut path to Self Realization. Through this knowledge, thousands were experiencing inner peace and liberation from their worldly problems.

She attained Self-Realization from Dadashri on July 8, 1968, while continuing her post-graduate studies. From that moment on she had a fervent desire to pursue the spiritual path that Dadashri had introduced to her. This knowledge helped her through difficult times; even when her father passed away.   At that time she was taking her final exams and instead of feeling grieved and stressed, she managed to remain detached and free from any suffering. She was convinced that the enlightenment which she attained from Dada was truly phenomenal and was working within her; regardless of her external circumstances, from within she experienced the bliss of the Self.

Niruma felt that there would be many doctors of medicine but rarely does one come across a ‘doctor of the Soul.’  She wondered why she too should not join Dadashri in His mission for the world’s salvation, especially if one could attain Self Realization in just two hours and experience freedom from all sufferings, worries and sorrows.  What could be greater than such a vocation? She yearned to be Dadashri's aide and companion and vowed to serve him until her last breath like a mother; she surrendered her all to him. Niruma dedicated the next twenty years of her life, from 1968 to 1988, in Dadashri’s devotional service.

She diligently and meticulously went about caring for him as a daughter would her beloved father, with absolute devotion. Dada once said to her, “Niruben, you have made a nursery for me like a mother, served me like a daughter, and you been a nurse to me in my illness.” In 1987, Dadashri told her, “You will have to be a mother to the whole world.” She accompanied Dadashri wherever he went. In her attendance to Dadashri, she became an exemplary model of seva (devotional service).

Using a simple tape-recorder, Niruma would record everything when Dada spoke during satsang. Later, the Gnani's pure words of knowledge were published verbatim in the collective fourteen volumes of Aptavani. Niruma's only lifelong goal had been a single-minded pursuit to carry out Dada's profound desire that the world attain salvation through the knowledge of Akram Vignan.

Along with ‘Aptavani' came a myriad of other books that deal with issues of worldly life: the science of speech; death; generation gap, harmony in marriage, science of karma; money, pratikraman to name a few. Never once, did she claim anything as her own work and she reiterated with remarkable humility that it was Dadashri's grace that allowed her to accomplish all her endeavors and that all the credit should be his alone.

Dadashri was very satisfied with her spiritual progress. Niruma was by Dada's side in his final moments. Shortly before He passed away, He graced her with the siddhis (special spiritual powers) to impart the knowledge of Self Realization to others. He told her, “I am very pleased with you Niruben. Whenever Niruben wants, Dada will speak from within. This Niruben is a great source for the world's salvation.” Indeed, he truly resided in her heart!

Armed with His blessings she went from village to village in India and traveled abroad and performed Gnan vidhi's gracing thousands of people with this knowledge and guiding them on the path towards liberation. She acquired Dadashri’s tremendous grace. Her efforts have been very fruitful, touching the lives of thousands who are now experiencing the bliss of the Self. Her only goal in life had been to fulfill her promise to Dadashri. Devoting her mind, speech, and body solely for this purpose, she had become the medium for the world's salvation. The fruit of her effort is evident in the growing numbers of people that are becoming aware of the beauty of this new spiritual science.

Dadashri always adhered to the principle that one should always live within his own means and never take money from others. Pujya Niruma also adopted and abided by the same principle, using only her own money in everything she did. Her exclusive focus was to give Knowledge of the Self to the spiritually thirsty and to stress to all, the importance of staying within the boundary of the Self for their spiritual progress. In this role, she herself became an exemplary proving to the world an astounding capability as a leader and rightful inheritor to walk in the footsteps of the Gnani Purush Dadashri.

Pujya Niruma departed from this world on March 19, 2006, in a state of absolute samadhi (a blissful death resulting from being in the state of the Soul and complete detachment from the body), however her subtle spiritual presence continues to give people inner strength to progress in their path towards liberation.

Her final wish was entrusted to Shri Deepakbhai, who also conducted satsang along with Pujya Niruma. She left him with specific instructions by saying, “This mission of the salvation of humankind is not my mission. This is Dadashri's and Shri Simandhar Swami's mission and it must continue.” Dadashri, in Niruma's presence, had also bestowed upon Shri Deepakbhai, special spiritual powers to conduct Gnan Vidhi.
The Gnan Vidhi is a rite that is the threshold into Dadashri's science. The power of this Vidhi graces the seeker with a separation of the Self and the non-self. Pujya Shri Deepakbhai is the next medium after Niruma who will liberate the hurling waves of humanity on the path of salvation, in implementing Dadashri's phenomenal science of Akram Vignan!
