Transliteration Key

Gujarati to English transliteration requires usage of some special characters to uniquely identify the Gujarati letter and corresponding sound. These character tables are included in every book for reference.

Following table lists the special characters used in the transliteration, their sounds, and distinction vs. other transliterated words that use ordinary English characters.

The special character set has been kept to the minimum required for correct, yet easy reading. Following table lists the special characters that have been simplified.
