On July 8 1968, she attained Self realization
from Param Pujya Dadashri and had the distinct experience of the
Self being separate from Niru, her worldly self. The
separation prevailed during all difficult moments
in her life, even later when her father passed away. This
experience convinced her that the enlightenment she
received from Param Pujya Dadashri was indeed working from
within.
Everyone in her family expected young Niru (her pet
name) to set up a medical practice. Her father had plans to build a
hospital for her, however, Niru had a different plan in her mind.
She thought, 'As a medical doctor I can only heal people's
physical illness but if I serve the Gnani, then so
many people can be helped with their
mental, emotional and worldly ailments as Param Pujya
Dadashri graces them with his unique knowledge. What could be
better than spending my life helping Param Pujya Dadashri spread
this knowledge which gives peace and liberates people from worries
and suffering? There are so many doctors to help people with their
health, but there is only one Gnani Purush to liberate them!'
With this lofty purpose, she resolved to spend her life serving
Param Pujya Dadashri. Thus in 1968, at a tender age of
twenty-three, she traded a life filled with worldly comforts for
one of devoted service to the Gnani Purush.
In the following four years she spent with Param
Pujya Dadashri, she understood the entire science. In giving the
ultimate insight to Pujya Niruma's spiritual state, Param Pujya
Dadashri used to refer to her as, "Mallinath [the 19th
Tirthankar in the past cycle of 24 Tirthankars and the only female]
of the Akram path". In 1973, Param Pujya Dadashri remarked on
Pujya Niruma's ability to give 'updesh'(spiritual message from a
master), saying, "Niruben talks from the vantage of the Self,
and that talk lets the bliss flow and is of a different order.
It has been only four years since Niruben has attained this
Gnan and yet she has the ability to make spiritual teachers and
other elders understand all aspects of this science."
Pujya Niruma had a powerful ability to convey complex spiritual
facts in a very simple manner, which people could easily grasp.
